About Donkey Fodder

Updated on

Donkey Fodder is an independent buying-guide site for home meat slicers, electric meat grinders and sausage stuffers.

We write for home cooks who want deli-thin turkey, their own burger blend or a batch of fresh links, and who would like a straight answer before they spend money on a machine.

Who our guides are for

Our readers are mostly home cooks, bulk meat buyers and weekend sausage makers. Many are buying their first slicer or grinder, and some are replacing one that wore out.

You don't need butcher-shop words to use this site. We explain blade sizes, grinder head numbers, plates and stuffer sizes in everyday language.

What we cover

We cover electric meat and deli slicers, electric meat grinders from #5 to #12 heads, vertical sausage stuffers and the upkeep that keeps them working. We also put brands and tools side by side, like Weston against LEM or a slicer against an electric knife.

How we put a guide together

We read the specs, manuals and maker details for every machine we cover. We also look at what owners often report after months of use.

Then we turn it into plain picks and comparisons. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell slicers, grinders or stuffers, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

Donkey Fodder isn't affiliated with Weston, LEM, Hakka, CUSIMAX, VEVOR or any other maker we mention.

We don't claim to have used every machine ourselves. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes our picks. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
